Mwembezi Gorge Bush Camp

A secluded bush experience with panoramic views, Mwembezi offers rustic charm, modern convenience, and a deep commitment to Majete’s biodiversity.

Welcome to Mwembezi Gorge Bush Camp

Perched above the Mwembezi River, Mwembezi Gorge Bush Camp is an exclusive, off-the-grid retreat offering an immersive wilderness experience in the heart of Majete. Designed for those who seek adventure without compromising on comfort, the camp accommodates up to eight guests in four safari tents, each featuring en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, flush toilets, showers, and secure safes.

The camp’s central lounge and dining area provide a welcoming space to relax, while the well-equipped kitchen allows for self-catering convenience. Evenings are best spent around the outdoor firepit, where stories are shared beneath a canopy of stars. With limited electricity available for essentials, Mwembezi maintains a low-impact, eco-conscious footprint, ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding ecosystem.

In line with African Parks’ vision, Mwembezi Gorge Bush Camp champions sustainable tourism, directly supporting conservation efforts and local communities. Guests are invited to disconnect from the modern world and reconnect with nature—whether watching wildlife from their private tent, exploring Majete’s diverse landscapes, or simply soaking in the breathtaking views.
